SACRIFICE is collection of commanding creations exploring the relationship between art and religion. Inspired by the idea of the ritual as an essential part of life, SACRIFICE took over Reykjavík City Theatre in a celebration of dance, art and music. The Icelandic Dance Company celebrated a new art director, Erna Ómarsdóttir, at the same time as they premired Sacrifice. Döðlur took that into the design creating an idendity both to connect it to a bigger vision for the dance company but also unique visuals for Sacrifice. The brackets were inspired by the dance company’s logo and the typhograpy is inspired by the chiselled writings on a tombstone, fitting to the show’s dark themes. Combined they represent a new idendity for the Icelandic Dance Company.
